The Arden Tree

I flicked my ear, I could smell the two, but I didn't react. And then I silently sprung into the bushes, coming into an open area. I saw a large black male, his back and leg blazing orange. At first I was almost horrified to think he was on fire, until he turned his eyes on me. I shook myself, this was the Blazing Sun, the little rumors and legends I had heard about him. I swallowed and then spoke; "Hello." I said and walked forward, being cautious as he eyed me, and then leaped at me. I snarled and savagely snapped and snarled at his face. I shoved him off, my hackles raised my my teeth bared, letting out threatening snarls as my eyes blazed and I glared at the wolf. "Who are you?" He snarled. I snorted. "First you attack me and now you want to know who I am?" I shook my head and allowed my hackles to lower a bit. "I am Silence, I come from farther north." I said and growled, baring my sharp canines as he moved. He nodded slowly. "You have the fight of a alpha in you." He said quietly, his eyes slowly stopped blazing, his lips curling over his teeth again and his hackles settling along his back.

I sneaked up behind Aura. "Hello again, you see the orange and black wolf? That there is our Alpha Male, Blazing Sun."

I let my hackles settle, but kept tensed. I growled again and let my lips cover my teeth, I stepped up. "Thank you. I do wish to lead a pack of my own one day." I said quietly. I flicked my tail and ears. He stopped and looked at me, his eyes brightening. He looked into the trees. "You two may come out." He called, and I turned my ashy black head towards the forest, and then back to Blazing Sun. I started to circle towards him slowly and carefully before I sat some wolf lengths before him. "I come at your service, Blazing Sun." I said and bowed my head, lowering my ears. He looked at me and sat down, placing a paw on my shoulder and woofed. He took it off and sighed. "I was hoping no one would really hear my howl..." he said quietly and shrugged.

I looked behind me to see Aura and I wagged my tail slowly and then looked at Blaze again. He smiled. "Hello, I am Blazing Sun, the alpha....for now." He said, the last part slipping out of his mouth so quietly, that I could barely hear him.

I walked out of the bushes, not hearing Aura respond and grunted. I walked over to Silence.

Blazes ears flickered and his lips pulled back slightly and a low growl rumbled from his chest. He let his lips fall and stood up, his tail held high along with his head. "Maybe." He said and lowered his tail, sighing. He looked up into the night sky. "I have had a rough past....I was once the alpha....until something happened...." He said and drew back his teeth growling to the sky and narrowing his eyes. He sat down again and let the wind seep through his black fur.


I watched them as Haru came and sat beside me. I flicked my ears.

"Blazing Sun...Are you...Going to...Retire...?" I asked.

I flicked my ears and Blaze looked at Shattered he sighed. "Me and Silence here, slightly got into a little fight, nothing much, common for two wolves to meet each other, specially males." he said and looked to Haru. He smiled a little and shuffled his paws. "I might....I have been an alpha, for a long time it seems Haru." He said and closed his eyes.

He was silent for a fair amount of time, before he frowned but kept his eyes closed. "He has the fight and battle of an alpha in him...he has the strength and courage and he has the bravery....and what he fights for....it would be for a pack...." he said very quietly and I fell silent for a long time.

I growled silently. "I know pain has came to you in the past, but how can you just leave the pack just like that!?!?!" I said coldly.

My eyes turn Dark Blue then I looked at my dad Blaze "......Yyyourrr.....Llleeaving Ddaad??"

He opened my orange eyes and blinked. "I have made....many wrong choices in life, and a lot of them I do regret and will until I pass. Yes I may be legend to some, but I have left and come back....to many times, and I want the best for this pack, not an alpha who will leave and come back every month." He said and flicked an ear. I slightly growled bu he silenced me with a narrowed eye glare. He looked at Haru for a long time. "I sometimes wonder if you guys do not understand." He said giving a brief smile. "Life has been pain and shame for me a lot of the time, I have lied, I have been lied to, and many other....pains." He said very quietly. He looked at Scy with pain in his eyes and walked to her. He placed his head on her back and let whines slightly leave his muzzle as he licked her head and stood with her for a long time.
