The Old Arden Tree

I lifted myself from off the ground where I was sitting, hearing a small rustle in the grass. My nose was filled with the scent of a young woodchuck and I went into a hunting position.

I rolled back over and went into a play bow position, wagging my tail and giving a playful bark.

Nipping her muzzle lightly and pushing his head against her shoulders, he was able (easily) to knock Claw down and pin her playfully.

I lifted my paws carefully and set them down silently, my gaze focused and alert. The prey scampered towards a log and I bounded forward, pouncing on the unfortunate woodchuck and killing it with a firm bite.

I was pushed down, but went along and rolled over again and jumped back up. Knocking into Hassin with my head, i butted him in the chest.

Letting out a deep bark, he pushed forward, knocking Claw down again.
" C'mon Claw.. I'm about three times your size! " He chuckled, wagging his tail and looking down at her. Suddenly, his ears pricked at the tree tops, listening to the howl.

"im not that small" i huffed, then heard the howl and pricked my ears

I quickly disembowled my catch and ate it, burying the parts I found distasteful. A howl cut through the air towards me, and I raised my slender muzzle, sniffing the wind a bit before trotting towards it.

Feeling curious, Hassun bolted through the woods, dodging bushes and tree trunks. A full meal gave him better strength and speed, so it wasn’t long until he slowed to a walk and stayed in the shadows to watch the scene.

I watched Hassun go and flicked my tail and padded to the Arden Tree. I raised my muzzle and sniffed the air, i saw the wolf standing there and didnt reconize him but the scent was the same. I tilted my head curious.

My ears went forward as I looked over the large male, He is probably the Alpha, I thought, my thick tail wrapping around my paws as I sat down gently on a patch of grass. My tongue smoothed down my chest fur a bit as I waited.

He kept hidden, watching the large male and the others from a healthy distance, the breeze against him to hide his scent.

"who are you?" i asked boldly flicking my tail

Tail cutting through the air, his golden eyes stayed narrowed at the new male.
' Why announce your arrival when you could be...attacked...so easily? ' Hassun thought, keeping silent and still.

I lazily studied the wolf, my blue eyes watching his every move. Getting to my feet, and walked a bit closer, staying on my feet as I waited.

I listened to the wolf, Silence, I thought, never really heard of him..
